 By official proclamation of the Town Council, Bucoda, WA transforms into BOO-CODA every October!
Just three miles outside of Tenino, this spooky little town comes alive all month long with chills, thrills, and frightful fun for all ages.

Family Friendly Haunted House

 

Join us EVERY WEEKEND for a family friendly good time at our Haunted House!


Cost:  Admission is $5 at the door $20 per family (2 adults+4 kids) or a donation of four non-perishable food items, four children's books, or a clean, usable blanket, coat, or bike. 

Oddfellow Grand Matriarch Pancake Breakfast
Enjoy a hearty breakfast of pancakes, bacon, sausage, orange juice, apple juice, and coffee. This meal is offered by donation, with all proceeds benefiting the Tenino Community Service Center Food Bank.


Haunted Vendors Market
Shop spooky finds, eerie crafts, and hauntingly good treats at the Boo-Coda Halloween Festival. Vendors can contact Laura Purcell at 360-259-6144 for details.


Hearse Processional and Viewing
Watch the spooky parade of classic and custom hearses, then get an up-close look at these haunting rides of the season.


Costume Contest
Step into the spotlight and show off your creativity for a chance to win cash prizes: $100 for 1st place, $50 for 2nd, and $25 for 3rd. Open to all ages, with registration at the booth in front of Town Hall.

Haunted Vendors Market
Explore a variety of vendors nestled between Liberty Market and Joe’s Place. From handmade goods to seasonal treasures, there’s something for everyone. 


Vendors can contact Laura Purcell at 360-259-6144.


Halloween Themed Chalk Art Contest
Turn Main Street into a masterpiece! Participants will be assigned a 4’x4’ square of pavement and provided chalk to create family-friendly Halloween-themed designs. Judging is based on creativity, originality, color, and theme. 


Prizes will be awarded in age categories 5-10, 11-17, and 18 and up. Free to participate


Registration required at the Information Tent at 101 East 7th Street.


Kids Activities
Join in on a variety of fun children’s activities sponsored by the Bucoda Improvement Club and Bucoda-Tenino Healthy Action Team. Check in with coordinators in front of Town Hall for family-friendly entertainment.


Great Pumpkin Pie Eating Contest
Sponsored by Puget Sound Energy, this deliciously messy showdown challenges contestants to eat as much pie as possible in three minutes. 


Categories include ages under 17, 18 and over, and Celebrities. Space is limited to 20 participants. 


Register from 11-11:45 AM at the information booth.


Great Pumpkin Race
Build your very own pumpkin racer by decorating a pumpkin and attaching wheels to create a gravity-powered car. 


Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Dead Last, Scariest Racer, Flashiest Racer, Most Original, Best Coordinated Racer & Participant, and furthest distance traveled. 


Free to enter, one racer per participant.


Costume Contest
Show off your creativity for the chance to win cash prizes: $100 for 1st place, $50 for 2nd, and $25 for 3rd. All ages are welcome. 


Register at the booth in front of Town Hall.


Pet Costume Parade
Bring your furry friends in their best costumes and parade them down East 7th Street! Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. 


Register at the information booth to join in the fun.


Forest Grove Cemetery Tours
Take a guided tour through historic Forest Grove Cemetery in Tenino. Tickets are available online through Eventbrite or at the gate for $15 each or $35 per family.

Haunted Vendors Market
Wander through a variety of vendors set up between Liberty Market and Joe’s Place, offering seasonal goods, handmade crafts, and spooky treasures. Vendors interested in participating can contact Laura Purcell at 360-259-6144.


Ghost Hunting 101 Class
Join Jake Rice of Ghostly Activities upstairs in the community building for an introduction to paranormal investigating. Learn about essential gear, how to analyze evidence, and the ethical ways to explore haunted places. Participation is by donation.


 Bright Nights Casket Races
Teams line up their handcrafted caskets for a thrilling race down Main Street. Awards will be given for Fastest Times (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Dead Last), Scariest Casket, Funniest Casket, Most Original Casket, and Best Costumed Team & Cortege. Team entry fee is $100, with rules and registration available online. Thank you to our wonderful sponsors BrightNight for making this happen!

Live Entertainment – Sick Boys Band
Enjoy live music in the Joe’s Place courtyard, bringing energy and fun for all ages. Free to attend and open to the whole community.


Inflatable Costume Dash
Suit up in your best inflatable costume and race from start to finish. Prizes will be awarded in four age groups: under 7, 8–12, 13–17, and 18 and over. Register at the information booth in front of Town Hall.


Zombie Dash
Show off your best zombie look and sprint for glory. Prizes will be given in the same age categories as the Inflatable Dash. Register at the information booth in front of Town Hall.


Thrill the World Dance
Join the annual worldwide simultaneous performance of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” Register upstairs in the Community Building and be part of the dance lineup outside. Prizes will be awarded for standout participation.


Costume Contest

Trunk or Treat – Sponsored by Joe’s Place
Decorate your vehicle with a Halloween theme and hand out candy to eager trick-or-treaters on Main Street. Check in at Joe’s Place beforehand to be assigned a spot.


Ghost Hunting Tour
Embark on a guided journey through some of Bucoda’s most haunted spots. Check in at Joe’s Place before 6:30PM and heading out to experience chilling tales and eerie encounters.
